  • Description and History

The "Pink Pecker" team was an audaciously named elite unit serving in the UN Spacy during the 2030s. The unit consisted of garish pink colored VF-11B Thunderbolt variable fighters flown by Ray Lovelock, Kinryu and Stephan. The team was close knit, Ray and Stephan in particular were good friends. During a Zentradi attack of Queadluun-Rau units, Ray and Stephan were caught behind enemy lines with few alternatives other than to fight or retreat. Ray decided to attack, ignoring Stephan's attempts to stop him, and tragically Stephan died when his VF-11B was destroyed by the Zentradi forces. Ray survived but was overcome with grief. Feeling personally responsible, Ray retired from the military to console Stephan's girlfriend Akiko while Kinryu moved on to other assignments, thus disbanding the "Pink Pecker" team. The unit would remain in Ray's thoughts throughout his life and when he became involved with Operation M many years later, Ray assumed the code name "Pink".
