Description and History

The Galaxy Refugee Ship was one of many vessels of this class to ferry survivors from the Macross Galaxy fleet. Following an attack upon the Macross Galaxy fleet by the alien Vajra, numerous refugees (including many covert cyborg soldiers hidden among the civilian population) travelled within these ships to the Macross Frontier fleet. Prior to being repurposed as a refugee carrier, the Galaxy Refugee Ship was possibly a fleet escort vessel.

As it is for all ships in the Macross Galaxy Fleet, the Galaxy Refugee Ships are built with the latest technology. The crews are principally cyborgs and as such the Macross Galaxy Executive leadership is able to control the consciousness of the crews and thus coordinate the fleet with a superhuman level of skill. The technology for this cybernetic integration is an offshoot of efforts made by the Macross Galaxy fleet to develop fold jamming technology used to disrupt Vajra hive mind communications. This technology was subsequently seized by the Macross Frontier Government forces after refugees from Macross Galaxy were absorbed into the Frontier fleet. The Macross Frontier fleet used the technology as part of their offensive plans against the Vajra and research of the technology inspired development of the implant shells used to control the Vajra.
