The VF-19ADVANCE (officially designated VF-19EF/A) and carrying the nickname "Isamu Dyson Special" is the personal aircraft of pilot Isamu Dyson of the S.M.S. When Isamu joined S.M.S. he desired a VF-19A but it was impossible to obtain that model due to restrictions placed on the VF-19 series. Only a small quantity of detuned VF-19EF units were available within S.M.S. Isamu Dyson contacted Dr. Yang Neumann, the original designer of the YF-19, who had since become VF Development adviser for Shinsei Industries. Rather than comply with Isamu's audacious request to sell VF-19A parts through illegal channels, Dr. Nuemann instead presented the "VF-19ADVANCE" project to Shinsei Industries. The project was to develop a prototype to improve and prolong the life of the VF-19, a variable fighter that was now 20 years old. The project documentation notes specifically that the completed aircraft will be consigned to Isamu Dyson of S.M.S. to carry out testing. The goal of the project was to remodel a VF-19EF into a higher performing YF-19.
The appearance of the VF-19ADVANCE is almost identical to that of the YF-19, including the forward-swept wings from the prototype. Also installed was the original integrated air combat software "ARIEL" from YF-19 no. 3 aircraft. Engine thrust is improved by 10% via exchanging engine parts and improving the control program. An Improved responsiveness is achieved by exchanging avionics from latest VF-19-series (not publicly disclosed). The minor weight gained through these strengthening modifications is offset by the use of advanced lightweight materials. In private comparative testing, the maximum thrust is greater and air combat maneuverability surpassed an ISC-equipped VF-25 Messiah. Although development of the craft wasn't expensive, Isamu Dyson personally invested a majority of his S.M.S. salary into the development costs.
