Structure: SWAG energy conversion armor; Armored pack uses 2nd generation-type ASWAG enhanced energy conversion armor (available in ALL modes)
Power Plant: two Shinsei Industry/ P&W/ RR FF-3001A Stage II thermonuclear reaction turbine engines.
Propulsion: 2 x 1,620 kN (maximum thrust in space); 4 x Gobishi Heavy Industry SLE-7A/A main booster engines (total output 2,940 kN); 10 x Gobishi Heavy Industries SLE-1B High-maneuverability verniers
    Performance:
  • Fighter Mode: at 10,000 m Mach 5.0+, maximum speed due to heat-resistance limit of the fuselage; maximum acceleration with APS-25A/M25 Armored Pack approx. 11.5G (including VF-25 engines at maximum thrust; maneuverability improves as more fuel is expended)
Maximum Airframe Design Load: 27.5G at maximum acceleration for 120 seconds
Design Features: 3-mode variable transformation; variable geometry wing; boundary layer control (BLC); capable of attaining unassisted orbital velocity over an Earth-class planet; ISC (Inertia Store Converter): Shinsei Industry Macross Frontier Arsenal / LAI Company self-development specification ISC/TO21; active stealth system antennae; chaff/flare/smoke discharger system; thrust reverser equipped with three-dimensional maneuvering nozzles; cockpit designed for EX-Gear equipped pilot (external remote control of the variable fighter is possible via EX-Gear connect slave function); AA/AS/SF-06 integrated radar (mounted in nose); linear actuators (provide faster electromagnetic transformation without contact between moving parts); enhanced communication systems and on-board AI equipped with battle tactic command programs for assistance; 1 x ASSA-021A compound sensor antenna for improving command capabilities (with additional infrared sensors and monitor cameras equipped in the APS-25A/M25 Armored pack); L.A.I. LC-212 heat-resistant compound material used for nose radome; additional APN-2000 antennas mounted on the lower right and left of nose section; the bulge on the outside of the engine pod functions as air/dive brake and is equipped with internal MDP/S-02 multipurpose discharger
    - Armament -
    Guns:
  • 4 x fixed Mauler RÖV-127C coaxial 12.7mm beam guns (mounted center dorsal section in Fighter/GERWALK mode, becomes head turret in Battroid mode)
  • 1 x Howard GU-17A new model 5-barrel 58mm gatling gun pod with retractable cover to provide air cooling for the barrels (mounted ventral fuselage in Fighter mode, in arm manipulator for GERWALK/Battroid modes)
  • 1 x standard bulletproof (anti-projectile) shield (mounted center rear dorsal fuselage in Fighter mode, mounted on arm in GERWALK/Battroid modes); the shield is composed of the enhanced energy conversion armor used in the APS-25A/MF25 Armored Pack
  • 2 x Remington ES-25A 25mm high-speed machine guns
  • or 2 x Mauler RÖV-25 25mm beam machine guns (mounted left/right of intakes in Fighter/GERWALK mode, on rotating hip mounts in Battroid mode)
  • 1 x Ka-Bar OTEC AK/VF-M9 Assault Knife, 1.65m, super strong material reinforced by pin-point barrier system (mounted under left arm shield block)
  • 1 x pin-point barrier system
  • 4 x armored heat sinks within wing-shaped housing (mounted two upon each right/left booster engine pods; includes built-in Phased Array Radar)
  • 2 x Hachishuu Heavy Industries C-207 high-capacity capacitors to power beam guns, energy conversion armor and pin-point barrier system (mounted one inside frontal section of each booster engine pod)
  • 4 x RÖV-22 22mm beam machineguns (mounted two upon left/right booster engine pods, angled 45 degrees rearward)
  • 2 x Otto/Sentinel 57mm anti-warship anti-air rapid-fire swiveling beam turrets with option of autonomous fire (capacitors mounted inside APS-25A/MF25 Armored pack)
  • Bombs & Missiles:
  • 116 micro-missiles in 2 x HMM-5A Mobile Remington micro-missile CIWS launcher pods featuring 2 x micro-missile launcher pods each (40 mounted in two CIWS torso launcher pods; 76 mounted in two CIWS shoulder launcher pods)
  • 128 micro-missiles in 4 x Remington Close-Range Micro-Missile Launcher Pods, Double-Loaded Type (64 mounted in four leg launchers; each launcher holds 2 loads of missiles for a total of 128 micro-missiles)
  • 30 x 200mm anti-armor high-initial velocity rockets in 2 x Howard 15-tube launcher pods (mounted outboard in coverless launchers)
  • 4 x outboard hardpoints for 4-8 large-size anti-ship reaction missiles
  • Additional Equipment:
  • Shinsei Industries APS-25A/MF25 Armored pack (deployable in all modes) featuring 1 x ASSA-021A compound sensor antenna
  • 25 mm high-speed machine gun and micro-missile warheads are later refit with anti-Vajra MDE warhead specification; rapid-fire beam guns are refit to MDE particle beam specifications
  • Optional Equipment:
  • APS-25A/P-011 armored block for the aircraft nose exists but was waived due the opinion of Ozma Lee that visibility in close-quarter combat and emergency escape of the aircraft nose was lost; A pinpoint barrier has been centered on the nose to compensate for the lost armor

  • Description and History

The VF-25S Messiah is designed with the capability to mount an Armored Pack similar to many previous generations of variable fighters. However, unlike the VF-1 Valkyrie' Armored system (which is limited to the Battroid mode only) the VF-25S APS-25A/MF25 Armored pack can be mounted while transforming, allowing use in fighter, battroid and GERWALK modes. The Armored pack allows the VF-25S Messiah to function as a heavy-combat attack fighter. Due to the high cost of the Armored system it is currently restricted to team leaders.

Normally, a VF-series' energy conversion armor is not active in fighter mode while surplus energy from the engines is used in Battroid mode, however, due to the APS-25A/M25 high-capacity capacitor for the beam guns, energy converting armor is available in all modes. High capacity capacitor built into frontal section of the booster pod. Due to increased waste heat, 4 armored heat sinks (2 on the right and left with built-in Phased array radar) added to the engine pods. APS-25A/P-011 armored block for the aircraft nose exists but was waived due the opinion of Ozma Lee that visibility in close-quarter combat and emergency escape of the aircraft nose was lost. A pinpoint barrier has been centered on the nose to compensate for the lost of armor.
