    Description and History

On July 17, 1999 a super-light-velocity spaceship from beyond the solar system fell to Earth, crash-landing upon South Ataria, an Island at the southermost tip of the Ogasawara Islands above the Tropic of Cancer. The United Nations investigates the crash and the discovered alien spacecraft is designated the code name Alien StarShip-1. In the years that follow the investigation yields many incredible discoveries concurrent to an ambitious project to rebuild the entire space vessel in February 2001. Soon it was discovered the ship is Gun Destroyer crewed by a race of giants and belonged to a faction called the Supervision Army. The reconstruction barely changes the overall dimensions of the craft but much of the shape and appearance of the vessel is significantly altered. Once the spaceship is rebuilt, the United Nations Government (U.N.G) christens the remade vessel the SDF-1 Macross in January 2009.
