Description: This dark colored mecha was seen only briefly during the final battle of Space War I. A VF-1A Valkyire equipped with the GBP-1S Armor system appeared in a black colored exterior with red highlights stationed aboard the SDF-1 Macross. As the fight with Gorg Bodolzaa and his Zentradi fleet reached the final stages, this VF-1A GBP-1S Armored Valkyrie participated in the final strike upon the enemy mobile fortress, launching numerous reaction warheads which would ultimately destroy the entire enemy vessel.
NOTE: Written upon the front left-side torso of the GBP-1S Armor pack is the phrase "sukebe itano" which translates to "lewd Itano". Ichiro Itano is a Japanese animator, director, and producer. He has worked in a number of science fiction anime productions, especially mecha-themed series like Super Dimension Fortress Macross (1982). The phrase is no doubt a joke at Itano's expense, humrously suggesting he is a pervert. Thanks to Pablo Castro of the Macross Mecha Manual Facebook group for the research and translation.
