  • Bombs & Missiles:
  • 4 x internal micro-missile launchers (two launchers mounted in the center ventral fuselage/each lower arm in Fighter/Battroid modes; two launchers mounted on engines/lower legs in Fighter/Battroid modes)

  • Description and History

The VF-5000G is the standard, single seat variant of the Zolan Galactic Whale patrol unit. Easily identified in a teal hull with yellow highlights, the variable fighter is most often seen with the Super Booster optional space/atmospheric booster and engine/leg Super Parts. Typically, the VF-5000G variable fighters feature shock ordnance and a shock gun pod for decreased lethality in their primary role as patrol craft.

NOTE: The VF-5000's designation was inspired by the Dassault Mirage 2000. Studio HalfEye titled its model the "Star Mirage," although Shoji Kawamori had indicated such a designation was only a nickname. The name "Star Mirage" has since been published in the book Shoji Kawamori's Macross Design Works (2001) and the Macross Chronicle (2009).
